Old Prophecy, Myth, and Legend

May 28, 2017 by Lynn Sholes Leave a Comment

The old prophecy about the Spear of Destiny states,”Whosoever possesses the Spear and understands the powers it serves holds in his hands the destiny of the world for good or evil.”

This Spear of Destiny is at the center of the book THE DESTINY CODE.

There are several spears that claim to be the legendary one from the Bible. But for this blog, I will only mention the legends and myths and truths about the one in Vienna.

More on Indigos

May 22, 2017 by Lynn Sholes Leave a Comment

Some of you have asked for me to tell you more of what I’ve learned about Indigo children. It is a fascinating subject. Supposedly, there has been a large wave of these children since 1970. Some say they are here to prepare us for the coming new world—and to lead us there.  They are called Indigos because of the royal blue aura that surrounds them that psychics and others claim to see. Kirlian photography can also capture an aura, however, that is subject to controversy. (I’d like to give that a try, but it involves electrodes and voltage, and I don’t do lightning or electricity!). There appear to be a huge number of characteristics or descriptors of Indigos. The ones I post here are the most common. Indigo children are spiritual by nature, highly sensitive, and often recall being in Heaven before they were conceived or born. Some can recall details of choosing their parents or have vivid memories of a past life when there is no way the child could have obtained such knowledge. In general, they have a “sense of knowing” and special perceptions. They are able to access “data” that other’s cannot. Adjectives also used to describe them are: empathetic, clairvoyant, intuitive, enlightened, willful, rebellious. These children have an expanded awareness and a sense of knowing there is a greater power. They are healers and frequently possess talents in the arts. They have come to this world to lead, and therefore you often hear they have a warrior spirit. Indigos know they are different, and the parents are aware of that when the child is very young. Commonly, they have high IQs.

Indigo Child

May 21, 2017 by Lynn Sholes 2 Comments

When I read about Akiane Kramarik (written about in my blog) I began doing some investigation into what an Indigo child is. Poke around the Internet, Google Indigo child.

I am interested in what you think about Indigo children. Leave me a comment.

FYI, when you fill out the form to leave a comment that is just to keep trolls and hackers away. Your information will never be shared.

Prodigy

May 21, 2017 by Lynn Sholes 1 Comment

I was doing research for THE DESTINY CODE (previously pubbed as THE HADES PROJECT) when I came across this most remarkable young girl. Her name is Akiane Kramarik. She was born in 1994. Her mother is Lithuanian and her father an American. The family was poor, and they had no television or radio. Both parents were atheists. When Akiane was four years old, she began to have visions and dreams. One day she had a dream of meeting God, face-to-face, yet she wasn’t sure because she’d never met or been told about God. She began to describe her life in Heaven in great detail and with sophistication. Her mother was surprised because she knew no one could have influenced her child. At age 6, Akiane began painting, expressing her visions through art because there were no words that could translate what she had seen. She said God gave her these details in vivid visions and dreams. She is homeschooled and her talents self-taught. Akiane was the inspiration for Tera Jordan in THE DESTINY CODE. Some refer to Akiane as an Indigo child.child.

Subconscious Flubs

May 15, 2017 by Lynn Sholes 2 Comments

In another historical, SPIRIT OF THE TURTLE WOMAN, about the people of the Everglades about 2,500 years ago, the story began with a party of warriors returning to their village. Many were injured or dead. Well, my guy came back in a coma–the deep sleep as they called it. I was halfway into the book when I realized the man’s name was Acoma. Hmm. Acoma was in a coma. Changed his name to AKoma so it wasn’t so noticeable unless you said it out loud. Should have changed it completely to something like Flub or maybe Bill.

Swiss Cheese Brain Syndrome

May 11, 2017 by Lynn Sholes 1 Comment

I wrote down an important date, so important that I put it on a sticky note and stuck it to my computer monitor. I looked at that thing every day for at least a month. The problem is, the date came, but I couldn’t remember why it was important. I wonder what I was supposed to do on that date. Still don’t know, and it was a couple of months ago. I finally threw the note away. Can anybody relate to that?

Brought Back to Life?

May 10, 2017 by Lynn Sholes 4 Comments

You gotta laugh at yourself!

While writing my second book in the historical series, Edge of the New World, (about 2500 years ago in the Florida Everglades) I had a friend of mine become a beta reader—not after the book was completed, but almost. I watched her reading the manuscript (though I pretended not to) one evening when we were attending a teachers’ conference. She was most of the way through it when she looked over at me with a puzzled look on her face. (Yes, Merrill, it was you.)

Her: “Didn’t Wagahi die?”

Me: “Uh, I think so.”

When I Knew What I Wanted to Do

May 10, 2017 by Lynn Sholes Leave a Comment

There was a sliver of time in my life, only 45 minutes or an hour,  that defined an important goal for my future. It was when James Michener visited my high school, and I had just finished reading his book, HAWAII. I had devoured it. The way Michener crafted his sentences, his finesse with description, his word choice, had dazzled me. So, when he walked on the auditorium stage and took the microphone, I was in awe. He was the perfect example of the cliche larger than life. The man seemed to own and eat up every inch of that stage. I clung to each word that came from his mouth. It was then I knew what I what I wanted to do one day. I wanted to be a writer. That didn’t happen until many years later when I had gotten to the point that I ached to fulfill my dream. I shuffled my priorities and took myself seriously. And finally, the magic happened. I became an author.

At Last

May 10, 2017 by Lynn Sholes 2 Comments

I hear Etta James in the background singing that beautiful song. “At Last” my website is functioning! I hope you will keep checking back and also peek at Behind the Keys and Talk to Me.  As for today, Florida weather is beautiful, and hubby went fishing with his buddy, leaving me here to work. Many days I have to ask myself if I want to go fishing or work on my writing. The answer is always I want to go fishing, but I need to work on my writing. Want and need are two different things. I don’t always put need before want. Today I did. And I’m happy because I got a lot done.
